I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported the Stanmore Village Fete today, despite the rain. In particular I would like to thank the committee members who have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that today took place.
Over the next few days we will try and get out information about how much we raised for St John’s Church Bell Appeal and Bernays Gardens Community Group. Please also look out for information about Raffle and Lucy Programme Numbers.
PRESS RELEASE – For Immediate release
Stanmore Village Fete
This year’s Stanmore Village Fete and dog show will take place on Sunday 14th July from 10am to 4pm (Dog show noon to 3pm). We would like to thank Elysian Residences for being our main sponsor; and both Sainsburys Stanmore (who have chosen us, along with Harrow Mencap, as their chosen charity as part of their 150 year celebration) and the Co-op whose staff will be volunteering on the day.
The Stanmore Fete is fun filled day and jam-packed with activities for the whole family. The day includes a dog show, a children’s fun fair, side stalls and inflatables, an array of amazing crafts and other stalls; a well-being zone; fantastic street food and fabulous entertainment.
This fun dog show has ten (The Best Veteran, The Handsomest Hound, The Loveliest Lady, The Prettiest Eyes, The Waggiest Tail, The Best Child Handler, The Best Local Dog, The Happiest Hound, The Best Rescue Dog and The Judges Favourite) and will be hosted by The National Animal Welfare Trust (Watford) and all proceeds from show will go to this cause.
The funds raised by the fete will go to Maggie Cancer Care – who offer free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their families and friends (https://www.maggiescentres.org). The Disability Foundation – who provide complementary therapy services to disabled people, anyone suffering from a chronic health or medical condition, as well as those involved in their care (http://www.tdf.org.uk) and My Yard – who rescue surplus food and deliver boxes to those in need as well as putting on creative meals and events to connect communities.
